About Optimum Birthing

About Optimum Birthing…

My name is Carole Clipsom, an experienced Midwife (recently retired), Complementary Therapist and Hypnobirthing Practitioner, I set up Optimum Birthing in June 2012 offering pregnant women a unique opportunity to access services that were not readily available within the NHS.

Although I have recently retired from practicing as a midwife, I remain a member of the Royal College of Midwives. I have a Diploma in Hypnobirthing and I am qualified to teach Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing. I hold Diplomas from the International Institute of Holistic Therapists in a wide range of Complementary Therapies, I offer Aromatherapy, Reflexology, a Positive Birthing Relaxation Session, and a Help for a Natural Start to Labour Session. I also have a First and Second Degree in the Reiki system of natural healing. I am fully insured and hold membership of The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), The Guild of Holistic Therapists and The Hypnobirthing Association.

Philosophy

With my combined extensive professional and personal experiences, my philosophy is to provide you with a positive outlook towards labour, birth and becoming new parents, so that you will be emotionally, physically and mentally prepared to embrace all the challenges and the rewards that parenthood brings.

Birth is a natural process as a woman’s body is uniquely made to nurture her unborn baby and to give birth when the time is right for her. Every birth is different, however it happens it should be a positive experience in which the mother and her partner are empowered and feel able to make the best choices for the birth of their baby, however that may be.

Sessions

Hypnobirthing – KG Hypnobirthing is available to book as a private one-to-one course, this can be as a home visit or an interactive course via Zoom. Both courses are relaxed in style, but full of evidence based practical information that will help you to prepare for labour and assist with making decisions about any choices that may lie ahead.

Complementary Therapies may help to improve a range of minor discomforts that are common during pregnancy and can assist and support the body to enhanced wellbeing through rest and relaxation, in particular Reflexology has been strongly associated with helping a natural onset to labour. A Positive Birthing Relaxation Session can help mums to be physically prepared and relaxed for birthing.
